Hello friends, and welcome to new subscribers! I’m so happy that you’ve found your way here, where we chat about fresh California Cuisine each Friday.

Today is a special newsletter just for paid subscribers. This month, we’ve done a deep dive into Hawaii travel with several posts about a recent trip to the Big Island. Did you miss any of them? There was Hawaiian coffee and Coconut French Toast, volcanoes and Mai Tai cocktails, plus luaus and Huli Huli Chicken.

The goal was to give you helpful resources as you plan your next (or someday) trip to the Big Island of Hawai’i. It’s been a fun ride! So, in today’s newsletter, there are reviews and links to all the accommodations, restaurants, and tours we did on the Kona coast and in Hilo.

Coming in May: Tacos and Margs!

Just a heads up, next month is dedicated to tacos and margaritas! Can you get more Southern Californian than that? I’ve been recipe testing and doing my part, shaking up margarita recipes to bring to you. It’s a hard life, I know.

You want a sneak peek, you say?

Reviews

Before we get into the nitty gritty, a few caveats.

  • The observations and opinions are mine alone and reflect what I experienced the day I visited. I might have caught them on a good day or a bad day (it happens). So, take my reviews like you would those on Yelp or Tripadvisor, and that is with a grain of salt. Things might be different on the day you visit.

  • Links provided are solely for your convenience. I do not receive any compensation or payment for including them. I thought you would appreciate not having to google everything, lol.

  • All the photos are mine and were taken on my iPhone. I have not pulled them from the web or anywhere else so what you see is what you get, and I really tried to represent the places as accurately as possible.
